Manuscrito Tequila Reposado Chapter Three is the third release in the Jalisco brand's numbered series, and the first of them to spend time in oak. Reposado sits in barrel long enough to pick up colour and sweetness without losing the agave underneath, which is what makes it the easiest style to hand to someone new to tequila. Vanilla and cooked agave on the nose, with caramel and a little toasted oak behind. The palate is soft and rounded, agave and butterscotch with pepper at the edges, and the finish is warm and gently spiced. Neat in a copita, over a large cube, or in an old fashioned built with agave syrup.
