Mark West Black Pinot Noir 750ml

Mark West Black is the darker, fuller end of the California Pinot Noir range that made this label a shelf staple in the best sense: Pinot with weight, made for people who usually reach for a bigger red. The fruit comes from cooler California sites where the grape holds its acidity through ripening. Black cherry, plum and blackberry lead the nose, with vanilla, cola and a little smoke from oak behind them. The palate is soft and juicy with silky tannins, and the finish carries mocha and sweet spice. Serve it slightly cool, around cellar temperature, with roast chicken, mushroom pasta or a burger off the grill.
