About this bottle
Method and Madness Single Pot Still comes from the experimental arm of Midleton Distillery in County Cork, where a micro-distillery runs alongside the main site to test ideas. Single pot still is Ireland's own style, malted and unmalted barley distilled together in copper pots, which is where its creamy texture and green-apple spice come from. This one is finished in virgin French chestnut wood, an unusual cask choice that adds a dry, nutty spice on top. Orchard fruit, vanilla and toasted nut on the nose, green apple, clove and cream soda across the palate, and a long finish of dry spice and oak. Bottled at 46 percent. Neat, with a drop of water.
