Mezcal Burrito Fiestero Joven 750ml

Mezcal Burrito Fiestero is a Durango mezcal made from agave Cenizo, the agave of Mexico's northern high desert. It is a different lineage to the espadin mezcals of Oaxaca and a good bottle to open if you think you already know what mezcal tastes like. Joven means unaged, so what reaches the glass is the agave and the roast, undiluted by wood. The nose is campfire smoke, cooked agave and green pepper, the palate is dry and mineral with citrus, herbs and a warm peppery core, and the finish is long, smoky and clean. Drink it neat in a small clay cup, or use it to give a paloma some smoke.
