Necesita Tequila Cristalino is an aged tequila that has been filtered back to clear, the trick that defines the cristalino style: the spirit spends its time in oak, then the colour is stripped out while much of the barrel flavour stays behind. What you get is a tequila that looks like a blanco and tastes like something considerably older, which is either clever or heretical depending on who you ask. The nose is vanilla, light oak and cooked agave. The palate is soft caramel and almond over a clean agave core, and the finish is smooth. Serve it chilled and neat, or in a clear, spirit-forward highball.
