Numanthia Termes is a red wine from Toro, Spain, made from Tinta de Toro, the local clone of Tempranillo grown in one of Spain's warmest and most extreme wine regions. Toro's hot, dry conditions and old, ungrafted vines typically produce deeply concentrated, powerful wines with more richness than Tempranillo from Rioja or Ribera del Duero. Expect dark black fruit, notes of licorice and dried herbs, and firm, structured tannins carrying into a long, intense finish. Numanthia is one of Toro's most respected producers, and Termes is its more approachable entry point into that intense house style.
