Numn Skull Cool Mint and Chocolate is a flavoured whiskey built around the mint-and-chocolate pairing, a shot-driven style meant to be served very cold rather than nosed at room temperature. Flavoured whiskeys take a whiskey base and layer sweetened flavour on top, so the spirit sits behind the mint here instead of in front of it, and the sugar does most of the talking. The nose is peppermint and cocoa; the palate is cool and sweet, with chocolate, cream and a menthol lift; the finish is short and cooling. Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour it as a chilled shot, or drop a measure into hot coffee.
