Copper Fox Original American Single Malt comes from Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, Virginia, one of the earliest producers making single malt whiskey in the U.S. rather than importing the Scotch template wholesale. The distillery hand-malts its own barley and smokes it with applewood and cherrywood instead of peat, then double-distills in pot stills and ages it in ex-bourbon barrels with periodic infusions of toasted applewood and oak chips. Bottled unchill-filtered at 48% ABV, it carries a fruitwood sweetness alongside caramel, toffee and oak that reads distinctly different from a peated Scotch single malt. Suited to whiskey drinkers curious about the American single malt category and what fruitwood smoke does instead of peat.

How to drink COPPER FOX Original American Single Malt

Try it neat first — the fruitwood smoke is easy to lose under ice. If you want it colder, one cube is plenty; more than that and the applewood character fades faster than the oak does.
