OTACA Tequila Plata 750 ml

OTACA Tequila Plata is an unaged blue agave tequila, bottled clear straight after distillation so nothing sits between the agave and the glass. Plata is the same thing as blanco, and it is the category's most revealing style, because there is no barrel to cover a rushed cook or a hot cut, which is why bartenders judge a brand on it first. The nose is cooked agave, lime peel and a little white pepper; the palate is sweet roasted agave with citrus and a green, herbal edge; the finish is clean, peppery and dry. Shake it with lime and orange liqueur, or lengthen it with grapefruit soda.
