Porfidio Anejo Extra 750 ml

Porfidio Añejo Extra is a 100% blue agave tequila from a brand best known for the hand-blown bottle with a glass cactus rising through the middle, and for a founder who spent the 1990s arguing that tequila belonged on the same shelf as fine brandy. This is the aged end of the range, and the oak shows. The nose leans toasted vanilla and dried fig, the palate carries caramel, roasted agave and baking spice over a soft, almost syrupy texture, and the finish fades slowly with cocoa and cinnamon. Treat it the way you would an aged rum or a cognac: neat, in a copita, no ice and no lime.
