Real Del Valle Reposado is a tequila rested in oak, which by law means at least two months in barrel and in practice means the cooked agave still leads while the wood adds sweetness and weight. Reposado is the category's most versatile stage, soft enough to sip and sturdy enough to mix without disappearing behind lime. Expect cooked agave, vanilla and baked pear on the nose, a palate of caramel, light cinnamon and citrus peel, and a warm finish with a gentle peppery edge. Serve it neat in a copita, over one large cube, or in a reposado margarita or paloma.
