About this bottle

Revel Avila Anejo is a 100% blue agave tequila aged 18 months in American oak, well past the one-year minimum required for the anejo designation. That extended aging pushes it closer to the deeper, more whiskey-like end of the tequila spectrum, layering oak and vanilla over the underlying agave character more heavily than a reposado would. Expect cooked agave with vanilla and caramel from the barrel, plus a rounder, warmer profile than younger tequila expressions. It's built for slow, neat sipping rather than mixing into a Margarita. This bottle suits tequila drinkers moving toward aged expressions who want real oak character.

How to drink Revel Avila Anejo

Sip it neat in a snifter the way you'd treat a Cognac or aged whiskey — the oak and vanilla notes are worth tasting on their own. It's rich enough to also work in a tequila Old Fashioned if you want to put that barrel character to use.

Questions about this bottle

How should Revel Avila Anejo be served?

Neat or with a single ice cube in a snifter -- extended oak aging gives an anejo enough structure to sip like a young whiskey.

What cocktails work well with Revel Avila Anejo?

Its oak and caramel depth make a good tequila Old Fashioned, if you'd rather not drink it neat.

What does 'anejo' mean?

Anejo means the tequila is aged in oak for at least one year and up to three; this one spends 18 months in American oak.
