Rhum Clement 2015 Pedro Ximenez Finish 750

This 2015 vintage from Rhum Clément is a Martinique agricole rhum finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The base spirit is distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice at the Clément estate in Le François, which gives it the grassy, mineral character agricole is known for, and the PX casks then layer on the sweetest of all the sherry styles. The nose is raisin, dark molasses and cane; the palate is thick and sweet, with fig, date, chocolate and a green cane edge running underneath; the finish is long, sticky and gently spiced. Drink it neat after dinner, where it stands in comfortably for a dessert wine.
