Rhum J.M Martinique 2003, aged 15 years, is a vintage rhum agricole from Rhum J.M, one of the most respected distilleries on Martinique, an island whose rhum agricole carries AOC-protected status similar to Cognac. Unlike most rum, which is distilled from molasses, rhum agricole is distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, giving it a grassier, more vegetal, terroir-driven character. At 15 years, expect that base agricole character layered with real oak depth and dried-fruit richness built up over a decade and a half in cask. Expect a nose of grassy cane and oak, a rich, complex palate, and a long, warm finish.
