Royal Salute The Miami Polo Edition is a 21 year old blended Scotch from Chivas Brothers, part of the house's polo series and presented in the porcelain flagon the range is known for. Every whisky in the blend has spent at least twenty-one years in oak, and that is what gives the liquid its weight: this is a blend built for texture rather than smoke. The nose leads with ripe pear, orange peel and honeyed barley. The palate is soft and rounded, dried apricot, toffee and a little sherried plum, before a long, gently spiced finish of oak and dark chocolate. Pour it neat in a copita, or over one large cube if the evening is warm.
