Sato Shiki Single Grain Whisky 750ml
About this bottle
Sato Shiki is a single grain whisky, meaning grain whisky from one distillery bottled on its own rather than folded into a blend. Grain spirit is distilled to a higher strength than malt, which strips out the heavier congeners and leaves something lighter and sweeter: the soft half of most blends, here asked to stand up alone. The nose is vanilla, cut grass and light tropical fruit. The palate is delicate and creamy, with toffee, banana, coconut and a dusting of oak spice. The finish is short, clean and gently sweet. Serve it over ice, or in a highball with plenty of cold soda, which is where lighter grain whiskies do their best work.
