Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 100 proof 1 L

Sazerac Straight Rye is Buffalo Trace's everyday rye, named for the New Orleans cocktail it exists to serve, and this litre is bottled at 100 proof. Rye had all but vanished from American bars by the middle of the last century; the Sazerac Company kept the style on life support, and this is the bottle that carries the name forward. The nose is clove, dried orange and light caramel. The palate is soft for a rye, with candied lemon, cinnamon, vanilla and a gentle pepper, none of the harsh dryness some ryes bring. The finish is medium and warming. This is a Sazerac, a Manhattan and a whiskey sour bottle first.
