Beacon Gin is a coastal craft gin from Sheringham Distillery on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, made in small batches alongside the distillery's better-known Seaside and Kazuki bottlings. The style is contemporary rather than austerely dry: juniper still leads, but it shares the glass with citrus and softer botanicals instead of flattening them. Expect a nose of pine, lemon peel and something faintly floral, a palate of juniper, coriander seed and bright citrus over a clean spirit, and a dry, lightly peppery finish. It makes a straightforward, well-balanced gin and tonic, and it holds its shape in a Negroni or a dry martini.
