Shucked Straight Bourbon is an American straight bourbon whiskey, which means at least fifty-one percent corn in the mash and a minimum of two years in new charred oak, with no colouring or flavouring permitted at any stage. That legal frame does most of the work you taste. Expect a nose of vanilla, corn sweetness and light baking spice, a palate of caramel, toasted oak and a little orchard fruit, and a finish that runs sweet before drying into barrel char. It is built to be poured rather than studied. Serve it neat, over a big cube, or as the base of a straightforward old fashioned.
