Siete Leguas Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Siete Leguas distillery in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, one of the last family-run houses still leaning on traditional methods. The spirit is double distilled, then rested a minimum of 12 months in American white oak, pushing it well past reposado territory into something rounder and more spirit-forward than many añejos twice its price. Expect vanilla, caramel, roasted agave, and a light dried-fruit sweetness, with the agave still audible under the wood. It suits anyone who wants an añejo built for sipping, not for hiding behind mixers.
How to drink Siete Leguas Añejo
Pour it neat in a Glencairn or snifter and let it sit a minute before the first sip — the oak needs air to settle. If you want it in a cocktail, use it in an Old Fashioned built with agave nectar instead of rye, keeping the agave character up front.
