Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 comes from Silver Oak Cellars, a Sonoma and Napa producer known for releasing its wines only after extended aging and for its signature use of American oak rather than the French oak more common in high-end Cabernet. The Alexander Valley bottling is the winery's original, longest-running label. The nose carries blackberry, vanilla, and dill from the American oak, the palate is full-bodied with dark fruit and soft tannins, and the finish is long and smooth. Good for pairing with a well-marbled steak or cellaring a few more years.
