Sipsmith London V.J.O.P Gin 750ml

Sipsmith V.J.O.P. stands for Very Junipery Over Proof, and the name is the entire brief: juniper is introduced at three separate stages of the distillation, steeped, boiled and vapour-infused, then the gin is bottled at 57.7% ABV. Sipsmith distils in copper pot stills in London, and this is the most assertive gin in the range by some distance. The nose is dense pine and resin; the palate is thick with juniper, black pepper and citrus oil, carried by the strength rather than blurred by it; the finish is long, dry and warming. Use it where lesser gin disappears: a martini, a Negroni, or a very cold gin and tonic.
