Sky Captains Reserve Brandy 8yr 375ml

Sky Captains Reserve is a brandy carrying an eight-year age statement, offered here in a 375ml half bottle. Brandy is distilled from fruit wine and then left in oak, and eight years is long enough for the barrel to do real work, softening the spirit and pulling the colour toward amber. The nose is dried apricot, vanilla and light oak; the palate is round and gently sweet, with baked apple, caramel and a dusting of nutmeg; the finish is warm and mellow with a little wood tannin at the very end. Serve it neat in a small tulip glass after a meal, or stir it into a sidecar.
