Slow & Low Cherry Old Fashioned 750ml

Slow & Low Cherry Old Fashioned is a bottled old fashioned from Hochstadter's, built on straight rye whiskey rather than a neutral base. It follows the old rock and rye tradition of sweetening whiskey in the bottle with rock candy, raw honey and navel orange peel, updated here with cherry. Everything is already in the glass by the time you pour, so there is nothing to measure and nothing to stir. The nose is dark cherry, orange peel and rye spice; the palate is honeyed and rounded, with stone fruit, baking spice and dry grain holding the sweetness in check; the finish is warm and lightly bitter. Pour it over one large cube with an orange twist.
