Spotted Bear Spirits Huckleberry 750 ml

Huckleberries are Montana's own obsession, a wild mountain berry that resists farming and has to be picked by hand, tarter and more perfumed than the blueberry it resembles. Spotted Bear Spirits, based in Whitefish at the edge of Glacier country, builds this bottling around that fruit. The nose is wild huckleberry and blueberry skin with a floral lift, and the palate keeps the berry tart rather than jammy, with soft sweetness over clean spirit and a bright, short finish. Local flavour in the most literal sense. Serve it cold and neat, pour it long over ice with soda and lemon, or top a glass of sparkling wine.
