Spotted Bear Spirits Vodka comes from a small distillery in Whitefish, Montana, at the western gate of Glacier National Park. It is made in the modern craft mould, distilled and filtered for a clean pour rather than a scrubbed-neutral one, so a little of the base grain still shows in the glass. The nose is faint and sweet, the palate is soft and slightly creamy with citrus peel and a knock of cracked pepper, and the finish is short and dry with almost no burn. Keep the bottle in the freezer and serve it neat in a chilled glass, or build a martini with a lemon twist.
