Talisman Tristan Tate Tequila 700ml

Talisman is a Mexican tequila brand bottled at 700ml for European-format shelves, and this is the core expression in the range. Tequila starts where whiskey does not: with agave hearts roasted, crushed, fermented and distilled, so the flavour comes from a cooked plant rather than a grain mash. That character carries through here as roasted agave and citrus peel on the nose, a palate of cooked agave and lime with a herbal peppery middle, and a clean finish with a mineral edge. Serve it neat in a small glass at room temperature, sipped alongside a lime and salt, or shaken into a margarita.
