3 Tres Blanco is an unaged blue agave tequila, bottled without barrel time so the distillate arrives exactly as it left the still. Blanco is where a producer has nowhere to hide, and it is also the expression bartenders reach for first, because clean agave and pepper cut through lime and salt better than oak ever does. The nose is fresh cooked agave, lime and a green herbal note, the palate brings sweet agave with citrus, black pepper and a saline hint, and the finish fades crisp and peppery. Serve it neat in a copita, chilled in a shot with sangrita, or shaken into a margarita.
