About this bottle
Tenute Sella Lessona 2016 is a red wine from the Lessona DOC, a small appellation in Alto Piemonte built primarily around Nebbiolo, typically blended with a small portion of Vespolina and/or Bonarda under the DOC's rules. Tenute Sella has farmed in Lessona for generations and is one of the appellation's defining producers, working sandy, mineral-rich soils that give Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo a lighter, more perfumed style than its Barolo and Barbaresco cousins further south. Expect red cherry and rose petal aromatics, firm acidity, and the structured tannins Nebbiolo is known for, softened by nearly a decade in bottle.
How to drink Tenute Sella Lessona 2016
Decant for 30 minutes and serve at cool room temperature in a large-bowled glass — it wants braised meats, mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses to match its structure.
