Tequila Don Elias Anejo 750ml

Don Elias Añejo is a blue agave tequila aged at least a year in oak, which is where the category's colour, its toffee sweetness and its whiskey-adjacent grip come from. The plant is still the point — barrel time here is meant to frame the cooked agave rather than replace it. Cooked agave, toffee and dried fig open the nose; the palate brings caramel, a firm line of oak tannin and warm cinnamon; the finish runs long, sweet at first and drying toward wood at the end. This is an after-dinner pour: neat in a small glass, or on one large cube if the room is warm.
