About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Tequila Ocho Single Estate Añejo Capulín 2025 is a vintage añejo tequila from a single highland field. That's the whole idea: Ocho was the first tequila to put both the year and the exact rancho on the label, so this bottle is the 2025 harvest from Capulín, a field high in the Arandas hills. Carlos Camarena makes it the slow, old way — agave cooked in brick ovens, fermented in open wooden vats, twice-distilled in copper — then rests it about a year in ex-bourbon barrels. The point of Ocho is that the agave stays in charge even through the oak: expect cooked agave and caramel, vanilla and dried fruit, a little cedar and white pepper. It's non-chill filtered and additive-free, and each vintage-and-field release is a one-time run. Sip it neat and give it room.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Warm amber.
Nose: Cooked agave and caramel, vanilla and dried fruit, with soft oak and baking spice.
Palate: Agave stays forward — caramel and vanilla over oak, with white pepper, cedar, and a little dark chocolate.
Finish: Long and warm, roasted agave and gentle spice trailing into dry oak.
HOW TO DRINK
This is a neat sipper — a copita or a short glass, room temperature, no ice. Give it a few minutes in the glass and the agave and oak sort themselves out. It's too characterful to mix; if you've been drinking añejo like whiskey, this is the one to slow down with.
