About this bottle
Tromba Añejo is a 100% blue agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, aged at least 12 months in American oak barrels. Tromba grows its own agave in the Los Altos highlands, a region known for producing sweeter, more floral agave than the lowlands around Tequila town, and that highland character carries through into the finished spirit even after a year in wood. Expect a full-bodied añejo with caramel, vanilla, and oak layered over the highland agave's natural sweetness, smoother than a younger reposado but still recognizably agave-forward. It's a versatile bottle for both neat sipping and a well-built cocktail.
How to drink Tromba Añejo
Sip it neat to appreciate the highland agave under the oak, or use it in a well-crafted Old Fashioned riff in place of whiskey — the caramel notes hold up surprisingly well against bitters.
