The QuintEssential Edition is a limited release from The Beverly, an American whiskey brand that puts its releases out as named editions rather than as a rolling core range. Without an age statement or a stated mash bill on the label there is no point pretending to specifics — what the glass gives is a classically American profile, the sweetness of new charred oak carried on grain. Vanilla, dried orchard fruit and toasted oak on the nose; caramel, cocoa and soft baking spice on the palate; a medium-long finish, warm and sweet-oaked. Drink it neat in a glencairn, or over one large cube if you prefer it slower.
