The Luminary series is The Dalmore's annual collaboration with a leading architect, pairing a limited whisky release with a physical work — No. 3 is the 2025 edition. The distillery sits at Alness on the Cromarty Firth in the Highlands, and its house style has long been built on the interplay between American oak and sherry casks, which is why Dalmore reads as orange and chocolate more than it reads as heather. Orange marmalade, dark chocolate and dried figs on the nose; Christmas cake, toffee and warm spice on the palate; a long, rich finish of coffee and citrus peel. Serve it neat in a copita, water on the side.
