The First Millionaire Sacramento Single Malt is an American single malt: all malted barley, distilled and matured in the United States, in this case in the hot valley air around Sacramento, where summers push maturation along faster than a cool Scottish warehouse ever could. American single malt only became a defined category recently, and California producers were among the loudest arguing for it. The nose is malt, honey and orchard fruit; the palate is rounder and sweeter than a Highland malt, with vanilla, toffee, baked apple and toasted grain; the finish is medium and lightly oaked. Drink it neat, or over one large cube on a warm evening.
