About this bottle
The GlenDronach Ode to the Embers is a Highland single malt from a distillery that has spent close to two centuries filling sherry casks in the Valley of Forgue, and the sherry influence is what carries this release. It drinks warm rather than smoky, in the way well-toasted oak and long-macerated dried fruit can suggest a fire without any peat involved. The nose is toasted oak, dried cherry and brown sugar; the palate is stewed plum, clove, toasted almond and dark caramel; the finish is warm, spiced and slow to fade. Pour it neat in a copita on a cold night and let it sit a while.
