About this bottle
The Prisoner Pinot Noir is the Napa-based winery's take on the grape, made in the fuller, richer register that built the label rather than the lean Burgundian style. The fruit comes from cooler California coastal ground, where fog rolls in overnight and slows ripening enough to keep acidity in the finished wine. The nose is black cherry, raspberry and a little baking spice; the palate is round and plush, with dark cherry, cola, vanilla and soft tannin; the finish is warm and lightly toasted. Serve it with a slight chill, around 15 degrees, alongside salmon, roast chicken or a mushroom pasta.
