The Prisoner Red Wine 750ml

The Prisoner is the Napa red blend that made the whole category, a Zinfandel-led wine rounded out with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Charbono, wearing a Goya etching on the label. The blend is the argument: Zinfandel brings the jammy fruit, the Bordeaux and Rhone grapes bring structure and dark spice, and barrel time knits them together. Expect ripe blackberry, black cherry and fig on the nose, a plush palate of plum, vanilla, mocha and toasted oak, and a soft, warming finish. Serve it a touch below room temperature with a ribeye, short ribs or anything that has been near a charcoal grill.
