About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Tishbi Estate Gewürztraminer 2018 is an off-dry Israeli white wine grown in the chalky, rocky soils of the Judean Hills. Gewürztraminer is the aromatic grape that makes wines smell like a fruit stand in bloom, and this one leans into it — pineapple, lychee, white peach, and passion fruit over a lift of jasmine. The Tishbi family hand-harvests the fruit, and the wine lands fruit-forward and floral without tipping into sweet, the touch of residual sugar balanced by fresh acidity. It's kosher (OU, not mevushal) and vegan, and it drinks best young, while the fruit is still loud — an easy, aromatic white for a warm afternoon.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Pale straw-gold.
Nose: Pineapple, lychee, and white peach, with passion fruit and a jasmine lift.
Palate: Off-dry and fruit-forward — ripe stone and tropical fruit up front, kept honest by fresh acidity.
Finish: Clean and medium, floral and faintly sweet, closing crisp.
HOW TO DRINK
Serve it well-chilled, around 45°F, in a regular white-wine glass. It works as a warm-weather aperitif and pairs naturally with salmon, seared tuna, soft cheeses, or spiced Asian food — Thai, Sichuan, and Indian all sit well against its aromatics.
