About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Tishbi Vineyards Merlot is a dry red from Israel, the everyday, easy-drinking bottle in the range. It leans on ripe red and black fruit — blackcurrant and strawberry up front — with a spicy, herbaceous edge that keeps it from going flat or jammy. This is a round, medium-bodied red built for the table rather than the cellar; there's no heavy oak or tannic wall to wait out, just fruit and a little spice. Tishbi is a family winery near Zichron Yaakov, planted on ground the family first worked for Baron Rothschild over a century ago, and this Merlot is kosher and mevushal, which makes it easy to pour at a table where that matters. Open it with roast chicken, burgers, or anything off the grill; a short chill in warm weather suits it.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Medium ruby red.
Nose: Blackcurrant and strawberry, with a spicy, herbaceous lift.
Palate: Round and medium-bodied — ripe red and black fruit, soft tannins, a little pepper.
Finish: Medium and smooth, fruit and gentle spice fading out.
HOW TO DRINK
Serve it at cool room temperature, or give it fifteen minutes in the fridge on a hot day — it takes a slight chill well. It's a food wine first: roast chicken, burgers, grilled vegetables, or a weeknight pasta. No need to decant or cellar it; open it and drink it young.
