Don Julio Última Reserva is an extra añejo tequila built by the solera method, where new liquid is added to casks that already hold older stock so every bottling carries a trace of everything that came before it. The release draws on the last of the reserves set aside by Don Julio González himself, which is where the name comes from and why it is not a bottle that gets repeated. Dried fruit, cooked agave, toffee and warm spice on the nose; rich caramel and dark cherry over agave with cocoa mid-palate; a very long, softly sweet finish. Serve it neat in a copita, nothing else in the glass.
