About this bottle
O.F.C. Vintage 2005 is a Kentucky straight bourbon released under the original name of the distillery that now goes by Buffalo Trace: Old Fashioned Copper, the name E.H. Taylor put on the place in the 1870s. Each vintage is drawn from barrels laid down in one named year, left deep in the warehouse and bottled decades later in an etched crystal decanter. The 2005 pours dark and syrupy. Dried figs and molasses lead the nose, then a palate of toffee, baked apple and old leather, with tobacco and dry oak spice closing it out. Sip it neat from a Glencairn, no ice, and give it ten minutes in the glass.
