Top Shelf Tequila Corazon Blanton Barrel Finish Single Barrel Anejo 750 ml

The Expresiones del Corazon series takes tequila made from blue weber agave at Casa San Matias and rests it in bourbon barrels shipped down from Buffalo Trace. This single barrel anejo came out of a cask that previously held Blanton's. Because each barrel is bottled on its own rather than blended away, the wood signature shifts noticeably from one release to the next. Expect cooked agave and caramel corn on the nose, then vanilla, dark honey, orange peel and a thread of cinnamon across the palate, finishing dry with pepper and toasted oak. Drink it neat in a copita the way you would a bourbon, or over one big cube.
