About this bottle
Trader Vic's Spiced Rum carries the name of the tiki empire Victor Bergeron built out of Oakland in the 1930s, the same operation credited with the original Mai Tai. It is Caribbean rum infused with baking spices, sitting at the sweet, warming end of the spiced category rather than the dry, peppery one. Vanilla and cinnamon lead the nose with clove and orange behind them, the palate is soft and sweet with brown sugar, nutmeg and a little toasted coconut, and the finish fades gently on spice and molasses. Mix it: rum and ginger beer with lime, a spiced daiquiri, or any tiki build wanting a sweeter base.
