Umano Kindzmarauli Semi Sweet Red Wine 750ml

Kindzmarauli is one of Georgia's best-known appellations: a semi-sweet red built from Saperavi grapes grown in the Kakheti region, where fermentation is stopped early so natural grape sugar stays in the wine. Saperavi is a teinturier grape, with red flesh as well as red skin, so even a sweeter style pours almost opaque purple-black. Expect ripe black cherry and blackcurrant on the nose, a soft palate of plum jam, dried fig and cocoa, and enough acidity underneath to keep the sweetness from turning heavy. The finish is short and berry-driven. Serve it lightly chilled with spiced pork, walnut sauces, or hard cheese and dark chocolate.
