Uncle Nearest 1856 Premium Aged Whiskey honors Nathan 'Nearest' Green, the enslaved master distiller who taught Jack Daniel the Lincoln County Process and whose name is only now getting its due. This bottling blends aged Tennessee whiskeys selected by master blender Victoria Eady Butler, Green's own great-great-granddaughter, for a rounder, more layered profile than a typical entry-level whiskey. Expect brown sugar, banana bread, and toasted oak up front, with a soft, warm finish. Bottled at 100 proof, it has enough backbone for a stiff pour or a proper cocktail. A bottle with real history behind the label.
