Virginia Highland Chardonnay Cask Batch 4 750 ml

Virginia-Highland Whisky is Virginia Distillery Co.'s signature blend, marrying Virginia-distilled American whisky with Scottish single malt, and this Chardonnay Cask batch finishes that blend in barrels that previously held Chardonnay wine. The Chardonnay finish adds a brighter, fruitier top note than a standard bourbon or sherry cask would, layered over the blend's malt-and-grain base. Expect stone fruit and light oak on the nose, a palate of vanilla, apple and soft spice, and a clean, fruit-tinged finish. Batch 4 will differ somewhat from other numbered batches in this series.

Neat or with a splash of water lets the Chardonnay-finish fruit notes come through; a light touch is better than ice for this one.
