Widow Jane Ocho Cask Blend is a ten-year-old bourbon assembled by hand from a small group of barrels, blended for balance rather than bottled one cask at a time — the same approach that made the distillery's ten-year expression a fixture. Widow Jane finishes by cutting its whiskey with limestone mineral water from the Rosendale mines in New York, which lends the pour its soft texture. The nose is caramel, dark cherry and vanilla; the palate is rich, with cocoa, toffee, stewed fruit and oak spice; the finish is long, sweet and dry at the edges. Drink it neat, or over one big cube if the room is warm.
