About this bottle
Sip Happens is a Willett Family Estate rare release single barrel, barrel 1044, an eleven-year Kentucky straight bourbon bottled in Bardstown. Willett puts these out one barrel at a time rather than batching them together, so the age statement and the barrel number on the label are doing real work rather than decorating it. Eleven years in oak gives a bourbon with depth instead of sharpness: dark caramel, orange peel and old oak on the nose, then a palate of brown sugar, cherry and baking spice with a leathery edge, closing long and dry. Family Estate bottles do not sit on shelves. Drink it neat.
