Snowcrest Huckleberry comes from Willie's Distillery in Ennis, Montana, and it is built on the huckleberry, the wild mountain berry that Montanans hike for and refuse to buy in a store. The fruit reads tart and a little wild rather than candy sweet, landing somewhere between blueberry and blackcurrant. The nose is bright and jammy, the palate is smooth with a rounded berry sweetness that does not overstay its welcome, and the finish is short and clean. It is a fruit-forward pour with the mountain West stamped on it. Serve it very cold over ice, topped with lemonade or soda, or shaken into a berry mule.
